Biography
Dr. Brown is a postdoctoral scholar in the University of Washington Information School. His work focuses on assisting with a project to improve Indigenous research and data archiving, integrate data sovereignty and CARE principles into practice, and develop operational frameworks and resources to support stewardship and access. More specifically, he is helping develop and conduct research on practical and technical solutions for integrating CARE into professional practice and infrastructure, including outreach, methods development and analysis. Additionally, Brown contributes to the development of collaborative curation applications that advance metadata, documentation, and controls; leads translational work to develop operational frameworks and guidelines; facilitates active engagement with scholars, Indigenous community members, and other collaborators, and; writes, publishes and presents research findings in academic and public forums.
